I love waking up to a tropical rainstorm. I hit my youtube and click my indie music station. I write while the girls are sleeping. I breathe in the world and dream of things to come. I sip my coffee and fill my soul with peace. The joys of a lazy Saturday, laying around like sloths, eating veggies, and listening to the rain hit the side of our home. The pups wake to wrestle for a bit and then they lay back down to nap. The sun peaks out only for a moment as another storm cloud covers the area. The rain puddles on the dock and the silence is maddening. No one is out. Not even animals. All are snuggled away, waiting for this storm to pass.
There are countless teeth unbrushed, Pjs that are still on, and PEACE fills almost every space. The rain is insurance that at least for a moment everyone has rested. Each house handles this time differently. Some blare the TV, while others pick up a book, or start to bake. Some folks reluctantly get ready for work, knowing it's going to be a slow ass day. The rain hits the sidewalks, puddles in the road, and cleans all that's in between. The trees sway as the rain changes direction and the canal fills. The boats gently rock side to side. The sky is dark grey and all is right in the world.
It's a bit of normal for us.
I like it. I like it a lot.
Until Next time……

I write pieces of my 43-years journey circling this planet. Some are past and some present. The time is not relevant.
It’s the story of healing, hope, transformation, and my overall determination not to give up.
